I thought job hunting was stressful. I realized now that deciding on which job offer to accept is just as stressful, especially when you have already established some sort of a relationship with the recruiters and hiring managers. I'm just very grateful for the opportunity to even have a choice during this economy.

Happy birthday, dad! ^_^
Looking Back at 2009
2009 was a year filled with adventures and milestones. I graduated from UMBC. We celebrated 10 years in the United States. I visited many places - Boston, NYC, Sedona, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Atlantic City, Ocean City, etc. I went camping a couple of times, barbequed at the local parks, picked blueberries, raspberries, cherries, etc at Butler's Orchard, toured Martin Guitar Factory, attended Eve & Rick's wedding in Ohio, pretended to know how to skateboard, and more.
Some mountain top place in Los Angeles where you can clearly see the Hollywood sign
A Las Vegas souvenir store where they were selling these interesting mugs/teacups
Grand Canyon in March, where it was cold but still very beautiful
Pretending to be really good at skateboarding - does it look real?
Rocky Gap camping grounds with the man-made lake behind us
Ocean City beach boardwalk at night
Nintendo Store in New York City
Martin Guitar Company where they make one the best guitars in the world
Samuel Adams Brewery in Boston - free beer tasting
Blueberry picking at Butler's Orchard
Graduation day - shaking hands with President Freeman

Cellphone Mishap
Have you ever wondered how much your cellphone can take before it finally dies on you? I found out that Blackberry phones are pretty resilient. I accidentally left my Blackberry inside the pocket of my jacket when I placed it in the washing machine. When I finally realized what I had done, I quickly stopped the machine, but it was too late. My phone was soaking wet with water and laundry detergent. I quickly took it apart and wiped dry every single part of the phone. Taan told me to bury it in uncooked rice because rice absorbs moisture. I did that and after a few days of drying it out. I turned it on, and it worked like normal. At least for now...
A friend of mine also did the same thing with her Blackberry many month ago. She dropped her phone into the swimming pool. She too buried the phone in rice, and it is still working well like nothing ever happened. I guess they make phone pretty sturdy these days. Hopefully, you don't make the same mistake I did. Make sure to always check the pockets of your jackets and pants before putting it in to the laundry machine.
